Nothing says uber cool like a white car – love it or hate a well detailed white show car is always eye catching when you see it at an event. When C6 Carbon got the opportunity to work on well we jumped at the chance.
Ian Kelly’s white Audi S3 was already a pretty stunning vehicle when it came to C6 Carbon running some colour coded 18 inch BBS Super RS alloys and lowered obscenely low on coilovers but he wanted to tweak the exterior of the S3 with some carbon finish to give it a harder look but without being too “Max Power”.
We hadn’t worked on many Audi’s before Ian’s car came in so his really was a guinea pig for us to try out the best templates and finishes on – this meant we were under a lot of pressure to really deliver a top quality end product to Ian as he was hot on detail.
The work we carried out for Ian included the following exterior/interior adornments:-
- Front carbon skirt and badge surround done in carbon
- Carbon b-pillars
- Carbon rear lower S3 skirt
- Carbon S3 seat fillets
- Carbon/leather console
- Carbon/leather custom dash
- One-off set of 3 carbon R8 engine caps
- Custom carbon fibre washer bottle neck
- Carbon grill surround
- Carbon grill top/slam panel
- Carbon fire extinguisher
- Carbon S3 sill trims
- Carbon dash ends
These were all one-off designs at the time and still are as no one else has taken carbon to this level yet on an S3 that we’ve seen.
On the interior we retrimmed the rears of the S3 bucket seats so they have a beautiful glossy carbon black, a perfect accompaniment to the luxury race interior.
Ian sent us all the parts to work on and was blown away when he received them back. The selection of photographs below from various VW and Audi shows give a snapshot of the level of detail and hours of effort that the team at C6 Carbon put into adding more of a raw race edge to Ian’s already street smart Audi S3.
